PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the wear of a photoreceptor to the minimum without arranging a special reinforcing layer on the photoreceptor, and to make the space between a developer carrier and a latent image carrier securable. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with the latent image carrier 3, the developer carrier 1 for developing a latent image on the latent image carrier 3 in contact or non contact with the latent image carrier 3, and a cleaning blade 4 for cleaning the developer left on the latent image carrier after a transfer process, and the image forming device is provided with a roller 2 which is freely rotatably supported at both ends of the developer carrier 1 as a member for controlling a space between the image carrier 3 and the developer carrier 1 and which comes into contact with the latent image carrier 3, and also, a sealing means is arranged so that the developer may not go around the roller 2. Since the wear of the photoreceptor as the latent image carrier 3 is reduced to the minimum, it is unnecessary to arrange a protective layer which is required in the conventional practice, the toner is prevented from going around the roller, and the roller as a space control member is appropriately driven in accordance with the rotation of the photoreceptor, and also, appropriately driven in accordance with the rotation of the developing roller as the developer carrier. |
