PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high quality of service(QoS) to devices in operation according to the wireless LAN standards IEEE 802.11. SOLUTION: A wireless LAN network comprises plural stations, parts of the stations are identified as stations with high priority needing a QoS and the wireless LAN network includes a protocol providing for connection periods and contention free periods. The method for providing the QoS to the wireless LAN system includes a step of grouping the stations into a polling list set, a step of selecting a number of the grouped stations for inclusion in a polling list subset, wherein preference is given to high-priority QoS station in the polling list subset, and a step of polling the high processing circuit stations during a contention free period. |
