摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the draining characteristics of a fuel cell precisely in a condition near the actual operating condition. SOLUTION: The draining characteristics evaluating device for the solid polymer electrolyte fuel cell is configured so that a junction 8 of a solid polymer electrolyte film 6 with an electrode 7 is pinched by a first member 12 having a first space 11 contacting with the film 6 and a second member 14 having a second space 13 contacting with the electrode 7, and water is supplied to the first space 11 while a gas is fed to the second space 13, and thereby the rate of water flow from the first space 11 to the second space 13 is measured, and the evaluation method according to the invention using this device consists of such steps as feeding a predetermined amount of gas to the second space 13 and measuring the rate of water flow from the first space 11 to the second space 13 when a predetermined pressure is applied to the water existing in the first space 11.
