PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing unit which doesn't become hindrance of an elevating pole for workers or work at maintenance work and is not broken by workers and doesn't spoil the beauty of a city and is easily and simply attached. SOLUTION: An image pickup device 9 is provided on an arm metal 4 attached to a pole body 1 supporting a distribution line 3, a communication line 4 or the like. The image pickup device 9 is electrically insulated from the arm metal 2 and is incorporated in the arm metal 2. The image pickup device 9 is connected to a communication device 13. The image pickup device 9 is provided with a mirror in the front of its image taking-in part. The image pickup device 9 is provided with a driving means which drives the image taking-in part so as to change its direction.
