PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone system, that enables a user who uses both a portable telephone and a stationary telephone at one's home to receive an incoming call to the portable telephone by using the stationary telephone, when the user is staying at home. SOLUTION: In order to confirm whether the portable telephone 4 exists in the house of the user, the first radio transmitting-receiving section 31 of the stationary telephone 3 transmits a response requesting signal to the portable telephone 4. Upon receiving the signal, the telephone 4 returns a response signal form a first radio transmitting-receiving section 41. The control section 33 of the fixed telephone 3 actuates a program stored in a storing section 3 and receives the incoming call arriving at the portable telephone 4 via a base station 2 by supplying electric power to a second radio transmitting-receiving section 32, while the control section 43 of the portable telephone 4 disables the telephone 4 from making speech via a second radio transmitting-receiving section 42 by actuating a program for stopping the function of the telephone 4 as a portable telephone stored in a storing section 47.
