PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data recorder which prevents disappearance of data and records user data in a computer readable manner on a recording medium even when the power supply of a host computer or a data recorder unexpectedly turns off while intermittently recording short user data. SOLUTION: The data recorder is provided with a timer means for measuring the time interval between the user data transferred from a host computer and the next transferred user data. A control section, when the timer means detects that user data is not transferred from the host computer for a longer time than the prescribed time, records in the recording medium all the remaining user data recorded in a buffer memory and carries out a track close operation or a session close operation to make the recoding medium readable after the remaining user data is recorded. |
