PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thumbnail managing device capable of avoiding concentration of loads due to the document management and increase of communication traffic. SOLUTION: An input document is stored in a management server 202, and a thumbnail thereof is sent to a management server 204. The server 204 stores a table TBL corresponding to the document file name, address of each server 202 and the thumbnail file name with the received thumbnail. The thumbnail is sent to a client 207 and displayed in a screen, and when a desirable thumbnail is selected, the corresponding thumbnail file name is informed to the server 204. The server 204 obtains the address and the document file name with a reference of the table TBL, and requests the server 202 to transfer the document. The document corresponding to the document file name is transferred from the server 202 to the client 207 through the server 204. |
