PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further reduce power consumption in a signal level conversion circuit, for example, of an active matrix liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION: This signal level conversion circuit for generating an output signal of high signal amplitude by utilizing an input signal of low signal amplitude, is provided with a differential circuit having transistors 41 to 43 and for inputting the input signal, and a cross connected circuit having transistors 46 to 49 and for inputting the output of the differential circuit.
