PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the manufacturing method of a solid electrolytic capacitor for extremely inhibiting the generation rate of leakage current failure and short-circuiting failure. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of a solid electrolytic capacitor, a conductive macromolecular layer 16 is formed as solid electrolyte in a capacitor element 1, where anode electrode foil 2 having an anode side tab terminal 3 and counter cathode electrode foil 4 having a cathode side tab terminal 5 are wound via separator paper 6. In the manufacturing method, a sealing material 15 is fitted to round rod sections 9 and 10 of the tab terminals 3 and 5 or near the sections 9 and 10 before the dipping process in chemical polymerization liquid for preventing the conductive macromolecular layer 16 from being generated at or near the round rod sections 9 and 10 of the tab terminals 3 and 5.
