PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of date information that hides part of the image and no consideration of holding the date information at the dubbing for the image signal taken by the camera. SOLUTION: The camera integrated type image recording playback system includes an information signal inserting means for inserting an information signal in a prescribed position of the image signal, an information signal extracting means for extracting the information in the prescribed position for the image signal, and a display signal output means for displaying on the display means. During the recording, various kinds of information as information signals are recorded in a recording medium through the information signal inserting means. During the playback, the information signal stored in the recording medium is extracted by the information signal extracting means and superimposed in the image signal to generate the output from the display signal output means. An information signal determining means for determining whether the information signal from the information signal extracting means complies with the prescribed definition or not is provided. When the outer image signal is recorded, the information signal is switched based on the result from the information signal determining means.
