SOLUTION: This method for calibrating the tape transport servo system is disclosed for a tape drive. When the tape drive is not being controlled by the tape transport servo system, tape reel motors are excited. Next, calibration data for a motor torque, motor friction, DAC offsets and pulse width modulator control signal timing are collected.</p> |
