PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator having superior quality which improves occupancy factor of the stator of a three-phase motor and attains reduction in size and high performance. SOLUTION: In armature coils distributedly wound on the slots of stator of the three-phase motor, the armature coils are inserted to each slot in the sequence of an external phase, intermediate phase and internal phase, the cross- sectional area of the armature coil becomes larger at the external phase than that at the intermediate phase and the cross-sectional area of the armature coil at the internal phase becomes larger than that at the intermediate phase. Moreover, the diameter of at least one wire of the armature coil is larger at the external phase than that at the intermediate phase, and the diameter of at least one wire of the armature coil is smaller at the internal phase than that at the intermediate phase.
