PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the sliding characteristics of the brush of a DC motor provided with brushes, for reducing friction, sound and vibration arising from the DC motor, and for cutting the production cost of the DC motor. SOLUTION: A brush holder 18 is formed into roughly a channel shape having two sidewall parts 18a and top wall parts 18b in cross section. With one end of the axial direction of this brush holder 18 arranged in such a way as to face a wall part 15b formed perpendicularly to the axial direction of the holder 18, a coil spring 20 that activates the brush 19 is arranged in such a way as to contact the brush 19 and the wall part 15b.
