摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OADM(Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer) system that eliminates the need for monitoring each wavelength of an input (output) wavelength multiplex signal even when the number of multiplexed wavelengths is increased so as to prevent cost increase and enhance the reliability. SOLUTION: A series connection circuit comprising couplers 3, 12, an FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating) 13, a coupler 14, a BA(Booster Amplifier) 15 and a coupler 16 is inserted between an input side optical fiber 1 and an output side optical fiber 2. A branching filter 17 connected to the coupler 12 branches an input wavelength multiplex signal Si by each wavelength and a branched optical wavelength number calculation section 18 calculates the number 43 of the branched optical wavelengths on the basis of the output of the filter 17. On the other hand, an inserted optical wavelength number calculation section 20 calculates the number 46 of the inserted optical wavelengths on the basis of the inserted light, and the number 31 of the input optical wavelengths is calculated on the basis of an SV(Super Visory) signal 30 branched from the coupler 3. An output optical wavelength number calculation section 21 calculates the number of output optical wavelengths on the basis of the 3 numbers of the wavelengths calculated above and the coupler 16 couples the result to the output light.
