PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present to an operator only the state informing signals of truly high importance among the ones transmitted from an exchange and thereby to ensure the unitary monitoring and operation of an exchange system. SOLUTION: This exchange monitoring system monitoring the exchanges A-D performing connection exchange between communication channels is provided with a message reception part 21 receiving messages from the exchanges A-D, a filter table 24a making the kind of the message correspond to processing information regarding a processing depending on the kind and storing them, a discrimination part 22 discriminating the kind of the message received by the message reception part 21, a retrieval part 23 retrieving the filter table 24a corresponding to a discriminated result by the discrimination part 22 and a processing part 25 performing the processing corresponding to a retrieved result by the retrieval part 23.
