PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil component that is used for various kinds of electronic equipment and is reduced in thickness while the strength of the component is secured. SOLUTION: This coil component is provided with a laminated coil 24 formed by laminating a plate-shaped metallic first coil 22 forming an air-core section 21 and a flat type second coil 23 also forming the air-core section 21 upon another, an outer jacketing section 25 coating the laminated coil 24 with a resin, and split magnetic cores 26 which are inserted into the air-core section 21 and, at the same time, constitute a closed magnetic path. At the time of forming the laminated coil 24 by laminating the first and second coils 22 and 23 upon another, the first coil 22 is arranged in the uppermost and lowermost layers. In addition, the outer jacketing section 25 is constituted to cover the outer periphery of the laminated coil 24 with the resin except the top and bottom faces of the coil 24 facing the split magnetic cores 26.
