PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for evaluating performance that are capable of easily and quickly evaluating the performance of a disk device and also executing virtual performance evaluation. SOLUTION: This device is provided with parameter acquisition means 11, 12, 14, 15 for obtaining parameters from a disk device 2 to be measured, which are needed to calculate the performance of the disk device 2, and a performance- evaluating means 13 for calculating and evaluating the performance of the disk device by using the acquired parameters.
