PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the productivity and to reduce the manufacturing cost of an optical disk unit. SOLUTION: The distance between a reference line L connecting the rotation center of a disk table 11 and the optical axis of an objective lens 21 and the axial line of a main spindle 24 is defined as a prescribed first distance X1, and the main spindle 24 is arranged almost parallelly to the reference line L. The distance between the reference line L and the axial line of a sub spindle 25 is defined as a prescribed second distance X2. The distance between the reading surface of an optical disk 3 and the axial line of the main spindle 24 is defined as a prescribed third distance X3. A disk rotation driving mechanism 5, the main spindle 24 and the sub spindle 25, and one pickup part 6 selected from among a plurality of kinds of pickup parts 6 configured by attaching any of a plurality of optical pickups 14 corresponding to different optical disks 3 to a feeding base 23 where the first, second and third distances X1, X2 and X3 are made common with a plurality of kinds are respectively attached onto a base chassis 8.
