PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a system which cooperatively adjusts the sound volume in an apartment house, and terminal equipment which automatically acquires transmission noise. SOLUTION: A home terminal is installed in each room, and a lot of home terminals cooperate with one another to examine the way of noise transmission between rooms by sounds of everyday life. Home terminals gradually learn which degrees of sounds are transmitted to which rooms with which sound volumes, from sound volumes of everyday life, and the results are stored in sound emitting home terminals respectively. Each home terminal not only automatically adjusts the sound volume of a device in the room where this home terminal is installed but also adjusts the sound volume on the basis of presence/ absence of residents in peripheral rooms.
