PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the excessive temperature rise of a thermal fixing roller caused by a temperature irregularity in the circumferential direction of the thermal fixing roller with a comparatively simple constitution in a thermal fixing device using the thermal fixing roller. SOLUTION: This thermal fixing device is provided with the thermal fixing roller equipped with a plurality of temperature measuring means and a means for estimating temperature distribution in the circumferential direction of the surface at the rotation time. Or, the device is equipped with a temperature measuring means and provided with the thermal fixing roller equipped wit a means for maintaining the temperature of the thermal fixing roller within specified temperature based on the temperature of the thermal fixing roller,the rotating state of the thermal fixing roller and the material information of material to be recorded.
