The tool (10) has a motor inside the rear part (14) of a housing (12). The front part (16) contains the bevel gearing which drives the grinding wheel (20). The protective hood (36) encloses the grinding wheel over a 180 degrees arc. It has an open center on the side facing the motor casing and is held by bolts and a ratchet system which permits rotation under some circumstances.
