The invention relates to a method for fixing a functional element in the form of a set screw into a sheet-metal part. Said method is characterised as follows: a conical raised part comprising a central cavity is produced in the sheet-metal part, whereby the cavity essentially corresponds to the external diameter of the thread of the set screw; one section of the set screw is inserted into the cavity, said section of the set screw, which is to be brought into direct contact with the sheet-metal part, being inserted into the sheet-metal part either from the side bearing the conical raised part or from the other side; and the conical raised part is then pressed at least partially flat, forcing sheet-metal material radially inwards into the thread of the set screw. The invention also relates to an assembled component that constitutes the result of the method. |
