A two-dimensional representation along a projection direction is generated from a three-dimensional subject. A connected region is selected by a user within the subject. A projection of this selected region is then generated in the same direction as the two-dimensional representation was projected and the external boundary of the selected connected region identified and marked within the two-dimensional representation. Holes within the projection of the selected connected region may similarly be marked as well as the external boundaries and holes within the projections of any voids within the selected connected region. |
