<p>An information recording apparatus capable of displaying an intraframe as an image for search at a constant cycle. Since one GOP includes one I picture, if it is assumed that the number of tracks in one GOP is 150 and the number of tracks of image data for one picture search is 576, then during a period when two search image data sets are recorded, by forming a 48-track non-recorded interval of search image data, a recording position of search image data is synchronized with the recording position of the previous I picture at 1200-track (8-GOP) cycle. Accordingly, I picture appearing every four GOPs can be made search image data. This facilitates concatenated pickup and edition working. The present invention can be applied to a recording/reproducing apparatus for recording/reproducing image data onto/from a recording medium.</p> |
