A method for playing back multimedia data by means of an entertainment device is disclosed, characterised in that priorities for a corresponding classification of multimedia data are allocated by means of a user profile. The playback of the multimedia data then occurs according to the priorities and the availability of the multimedia data. The multimedia data can be received or read from a store. A timed recording of multimedia data can be achieved, by means of an electronic programme guide.
