A bridge circuit of power semiconductor switches (T1-T4) with series diodes (D1-D4) supplies a resonant circuit (C,L). The method proposes that to control the inverter output the inverter output voltage is monitored and in a time window, during which semiconductors are turned-on, the control system determines whether or not a set limiting value has been exceeded. If this is the case the control system adjusts the turn-on times of the semiconductor switches accordingly.
