A valve for sampling a process from a tank or conduit includes an internal cavity (11) in communication with at least one inlet (20) and an outlet (32). A valve actuating rod (130) includes a sealing tip (62) attached to one end thereof. The valve actuating rod (130) is movable to open and close the inlet (20) to the internal cavity (11). Furthermore, a seal (56) is formed on the process side of the bottom wall of the internal cavity (11) in order to ensure that the process material, cleaning material, steam, etc. drains completely out of the internal cavity (11) of the valve.
