POINT SERVER SYSTEM USING SERIAL NUMBER

An effective point system having various modes is realized by a using serial number given to a commodity or a service. A server system is connected with a computer network represented by the Internet and is accessed by a user terminal connected with the computer network. The server system is provided with a user information database for storing therein user information including personal information on users and point information and a point information database for storing therein point information defined for every commodity and or service. By using serial number input means that the user terminal has and is used for inputting the serial number given to a commodity or service, the system receives the serial number inputted and transmitted to authenticate the user and to analyze the serial number. With reference to the point information database, the system determines the point corresponding to the commodity or service on the basis of the analysis of the serial number and adds the determined point to the point information in the user information database, hereby enabling point shopping.
