The invention relates to a food forming method and device for forming food by wrapping stuffing with a shell, and provides a food forming method and device wherein the shell is sealed in a safer manner with the stuffing placed in the shell. The device comprises a first shutter (1), a second shutter (2) disposed therebelow, a support means (6) disposed below the second shutter (2), wherein the timing for the start of actuation of the second shutter (2) subsequent to the start of actuation of the first shutter (1) is suitably adjusted to thereby adjust the gathered amount of shell (F) while the position of the support member (60) is suitably adjusted to thereby adjust the gathered amount of shell (F) around the periphery, whereby reliable wrapping with the shell (F) can be effected by suitably dealing with different sizes of shells (F) and lumps of stuffing (G).
