A support band (5) is joined to the top side of the start of a length of material by means of a first adhesive zone (2), and joined by means of a third adhesive zone (8) to a second layer of material belonging to the first length of material. A second adhesive zone (3) pointing away from the roll of material and positioned on the support band is joined to the second length f material. The third adhesive zone possessing two adhesive strips (9,10) is split between the two adhesive strips.
