A filter material (1-4), esp. for filters or multiple filters used in the tobacco industry, is enclosed by a section of at least partially transparent jacketing material (11), e.g. heat shrinkable plastic tubing. This is in turn enclosed by a cover paper (7) with one or more windows (8,9). The jacketing material is at least partially printed, and may be perforated or air permeable. The multiple filter consists of two or more segments of different filter material.
