A small, portable electronic device (effectively, a computer) capable of running on AAA batteries and displaying, on a high-resolution colour monitor, files of a variety of formats, including videos, audio clips (can be listened to using personal earphones), graphics, text and animated computer games. The device is multitasking and contains all the software required to log into the Internet or connect to a PC or Apple Mac and to download or transfer files from either source. It has very few moving parts, utilising a large internal memory managed by a filing system instead of disk drives, and a virtual keyboard instead of a standard one.
