ILLUMINATION DEVICE HAVING MULTIPLE LIGHT SOURCES

A flashlight (10) having multiple light sources that may be actuated by a user. A first light source (41) located at or near a first end of the flashlight (10) provides a concentrated, linear beam of light from a head module that is generally parallel with the flashlight (10) when the first light source (41) is actuated. A reflector (34) focuses the beam of light. A second light source (24) in combination with a reflector (26) located a tail module (17), which is at or near a second end of the flashlight (10), provides radial illumination with respect to the tail module when the second light source (24) is actuated. The reflector diffuses illumination at the tail module (17). A switching mechanism (18) enables a user to selectively actuate or deactuate the first and/or second light sources.
