The invention provides ectoparasite controllers for warm-blooded animals which exhibit high controlling effect and safety, i.e., compounds of the general formula (I) or salts thereof: (I) wherein R<1> is optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl, optionally substituted alkynyl, OR<5> (wherein R<5> is optionally substituted alkyl, optionally substituted alkenyl, or optionally substituted alkynyl), or SR<5> (wherein R<5> is as defined above); R<2> is optionally substituted alkyl; one of R<3> and R<4> is hydrogen and the other is fluoro, chloro, bromo, or CF3; and X is fluoro or chloro.
