PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus which quickly cuts and removes projections 5, 5 formed on planes 1', 1' facing each other in the neighborhood of a carbonization chamber port 1 without the necessity for man power. SOLUTION: A pedestal 2 is brought into a coke oven chamber port. Projections 5, 5 on planes 1', 1' facing each other in the chamber port are removed by rotary cutters 4', 4' incorporated in an up-and-down movable truck 3 attached to the pedestal 2.
