PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passive type sampler with favorable measurement accuracy and extremely easy analyzing operation which can be repeatedly used for sampling a multiplicity of times, and an analyzing method for a component in an atmosphere using the passive type sampler. SOLUTION: The passive type sampler 1 has a cylindrical porous tube 2 with both ends opened, and an absorbent 3 housed in an interior of the porous tube 2. The absorbent 3 is arranged in a portion other than the both ends of the porous tube 2. It is movably held by filling glass wool 4 and 4 from both end sides of the porous tube 2 and installing fastening plates 5 and 5 in their outer ends. The passive type sampler 1 is placed in a measure environment to perform sampling. After sampling, the passive type sampler 1 is inserted in a measurement tube 10 and it is held by a fastening plate 11. Instrumental analysis is performed by heating the measurement tube 10 and desorbing components.
