PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a biodegradable, highly functional aliphatic carbonate compound having polymerizable unsaturated bonds with high safety and at a low cost. SOLUTION: This process for producing the aliphatic carbonate compound having unsaturated bonds comprises reacting reactants comprising essentially an aliphatic alcohol having unsaturated bonds and an alkyl carbonate in the presence of a group I metal compound and/or a group II metal compound. The process for producing the aliphatic carbonate compound having unsaturated bonds also comprises reacting reactants comprising essentially an aliphatic alcohol having unsaturated bonds, a saturated aliphatic alcohol, and an alkyl carbonate in the presence of a group I metal compound and/or a group II metal compound.
