[Also in Division D1-2] A sanitary product comprises a fluid-permeable wrapper and an interior pad of fibrous absorbent material made by impregnating an aqueous slurry of wood pulp with a longchain cationic surfactant debonding agent, sheeting out, wet-pressing, drying, mechanically fiberizing the sheet and air-laying the fibres, (see Division D1-2). The sanitary product may be a diaper, sanitary napkin, bandage or nursing pad. The wrapper may be of woven gauze, or the flushable paper wrapper of Specification 1,157,003. The interior pad may be formed by superimposing a cut layer of creped cellulose wadding on the batt and folding with multiple reverse folds. A conventional moisture barrier may also be included. |
