PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the installation cost of an indoor air conditioner and exclude or at least reduce bad looking when the air conditioner is installed. SOLUTION: The indoor air conditioner 10 for installing in an opening part formed previously in the wall of a building is provided with a depth substantially equal to the thickness of the wall so that a front cover 11 and a rear surface cover 12 are erected upright on a floor surface in the opening part under a condition that both of them are flush with the inner surface and the outer surface of the wall, respectively. A necessary compact design can be achieved by superposing the constituting parts of the air conditioner 10 vertically in the air conditioner. According to this method, a condenser coil 16 is in the bottom section whereby air for the condenser is drawn into or extracted out of the condenser through the rear surface of the air conditioner while an evaporator coil 22 is in the upper section whereby air for the same is drawn into or extracted out of the evaporator through the front surface of the air conditioner. Fans 19, 24 for respective coils are arranged co-axially whereby both of the shafts for the fans are driven by one motor 21. |
