PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having display quality nearly free from such defects as light escaping and a luminous point defect caused by reverse transition by preventing the reverse transition. SOLUTION: A non-visible area is provided at the outer side of a visible area 54. An electrode 53, a TFT element or the like for preventing the reverse transition are disposed in the non-visible area and the area is maintained in a bend alignment state.
