PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door which is excellent in airtightness, facilitates opening/closing operation thereof with a small force, and can reduce noise at the time of the closing operation thereof. SOLUTION: The sliding door is guided by a guide rail 10 arranged along an opening frame 30, and it is tucked away and overlapped on a wall portion 40 in which the opening frame 30 is formed, when opened. The guide rail 10 is folded in a thickness direction of the door. When the door is moved from an opened position to a closed position, it is brought closer to the opening frame 30 from a tucked location. When the sliding door 20 is moved from the closed position to the opened position, the guide rail 10 is divided into a first guide rail 11 which guides a leading side 21 of the sliding door 20, and a second guide rail 12 which guides a tailing side 22 of the sliding door 20. A folded portion of the guide rail 10 is set such that the leading side 21 of the sliding door 20 is first separated from the opening frame 30 prior to the tailing side 22, when the sliding door 20 is moved from the closed position to the opened position.
