PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document feeder capable of stably feeding a document regardless of the kind of the document, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the document feeder. SOLUTION: A regulation part 24 is provided at the end of a reading position side of an upper guide member 7a constituting the upper surface of a feeding path for feeding the document P to a reading position on a platen glass, and regulates the upward movement of the document P going toward the reading position from the feeding path. The regulation part 24 is constituted so that its regulating force at both ends H in a direction orthogonal to a document feeding direction may be smaller than that at the center part G, whereby resistance to both side ends of the document P by the regulation part 24 is reduced.
