PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized camera of simple structure. SOLUTION: In the camera 1 having a cartridge chamber 5, a cartridge chamber cover 2 to cover it and cover lock mechanism 51 to lock the cartridge chamber cover 2 at a closed state, first and second gears 511, 512 to transmit driving force from a motor 10 and a lock plate 513 to lock the cartridge chamber cover 2 at the closed state are integrally fixed to the cover lock mechanism 51, the lock plate 513 is engaged into a pawl 251 provided in the cartridge chamber cover 2 by moving in a direction approximately orthogonal to a moving locus of the pawl 251 and holds the cartridge chamber cover 2 at the closed state.
