LIQUID DETERGENT COMPOSITION COMPRISING QUATERNARY NITROGEN-CONTAINING AND/OR ZWITTERTIONIC POLYMERIC SUDS ENHANCER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid detergent composition comprising a polymeric material which is a suds enhancer and a suds volume extender and having increased effectiveness for preventing redeposition of grease during hand dishwashing. SOLUTION: The liquid detergent composition comprises an effective amount of a quaternary nitrogen-containing monomeric unit and/or zitterionic monomeric unit-containing polymeric suds enhancer which is a polymeric material suitable as the suds volume and suds endurance extender and comprises (a) units capable of having a cationic charge at a pH of about 4 to about 12, provided that the suds enhancer has an average cationic charge density of 2.8 or less units per 100 daltons molecular weight at a pH of about 4 to about 12; (b) an effective amount of a detersive surfactant; and (C) the balance carriers and other adjunct ingredients, provided that a 10% aqueous solution of the detergent composition has a pH of about 4 to about 12.
