PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent back fire, by providing a flame arrester function to an intercooler mounted to cool supercharged air without individually disposing an arrester, and to reduce the space and weight. SOLUTION: The intercooler has a case through which the supercharged air passes, and a heat exchanger 4 which is installed in the case to heat- exchange the supercharged air with cooling fluid. A frame member 15 is disposed to a periphery of a ventilation portion on the inlet and outlet sides of the supercharged air of the heat exchanger 4 to reduce clearance between the heat exchanger and an inner wall of the case. The heat exchanger 4 comprises a pair of tanks 43, 44, a tube connecting the tank 43 to tank 44, and a plurality of fins 46 arranged along the tube. The supercharged air passes through every block formed by dividing a heat exchanging portion 4A at plural times. A partition board 15d is disposed between the blocks to reduce the clearance between the heat exchanger 4 and the inner wall of the case. |
