PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet for ink jet recording which exhibits good ink receiving performance and outstanding resistance to ozone and light and satisfies required properties. SOLUTION: In the sheet for ink jet recording with a coloring material receiving layer formed on a support, the coloring material receiving layer is characterized in that it contains a chemical compound represented by formula (I). In formula (I), R<1> and R<2> are independently a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, -COR<3> , -COOR<4> , -SO2 -R<5> and -N(R<6> ) R<7> . R<10> to R<14> are independently a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group, a heterocyclic group, -COR<31> , -COOR<32> and -N(R<33> ) R<34> . |
