PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus of a direct recording system which can suppress scumming because of the fact that floating toner passes through a hole corresponding to a non image part of a recording member while lowering the fly voltage by letting the toner float beforehand, and can avoid complicating an electrode configuration and clogging between hole formation members by the toner. SOLUTION: An electric field in a forward direction to electrostatically move the toner from a toner carrier roller 1 to a counter substrate (substrate where a counter electrode 6, etc., are formed) is formed between the toner carrier roller 1 and a first electrode 4, thereby starting to fly the toner. Thereafter, while the electric field in the forward direction is weakened in the intensity, an electric field in the reverse direction to electrostatically move the toner oppositely from the side of the counter substrate to the toner carrier roller 1 is formed inside the hole 2 between the first electrode 4 and a second electrode 14 in a penetration direction. |
