摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic method and device for discriminating water level in pipe by which the level of infiltrated water accumulating in a gas pipe to be inspected can be discriminated without piercing the pipe by using an ultrasonic wave. SOLUTION: In the ultrasonic method, the reflected wave of the ultrasonic wave is continuously detected by sliding an ultrasonic sensor which receives and outputs the reflected wave on the side wall of the gas pipe to be inspected while the ultrasonic wave is oscillated, and the presence/absence of water in the pipe is discriminated based on the level of the reflected wave by means of a discriminator connected to the sensor. Then a change in the discrimination of the presence/absence of water is displayed on an external display device and, at the same time, the detected position when the change is displayed is discriminated as the water level in the gas pipe.
