PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leak test method for a vessel capable of providing sure sealing capability while preventing buckling deformation of a bottle and of restraining increase of a device cost. SOLUTION: In a state that a sealing head 12 disposed oppositely to an opening 11 of the bottle 10 is vertically moved by a cylinder 13 and thus, the bottle opening 11 is closed with closing force in the range of 400±100 kPa (4±1 kgf) by the sealing head 12 in the stroke range of the cylinder 13, test air having a pressure lower than the closing force is enclosed in the bottle 10 through the sealing head 12, so that the presence of leak is determined by detecting the pressure variation in the bottle 10.
