PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-frequency transducer which provides an optional directivity characteristic irrespective of the frequency. SOLUTION: The transducer comprises a plurality of arrayed rectangular oscillators 1 which oscillate to make a multi-frequency transmission/reception, utilizing a resonance frequency in a fundamental oscillation mode determined by the sizes A, B of a narrow side 1a and a broad side 1b perpendicular to a lengthwise side 1c of each oscillator 1 and resonance frequencies in higher- order oscillation modes. The directional angleθof the oscillator is controlled by its lengthwise size C set to a value not influencing on the resonance in the fundamental and higher-order oscillation modes.
